This Agri Farm could be the base for our GREEN PROJECT.
It has a fenced site of 10.000 m2 with constructions of 1.221m2 and a site of 10.000 m2 used as an orchard to be transformed in pasture.
The stables must be modernized but the structure is in good condition. The installations consist of 2 silos with a capacity of 10 MT each and there is a well for watering the animals.
Here, the animals could have a medical check-up before going to the park and sick or wounded animals can be treated and recover.
Selling price is low since the owner has reduced the price significantly to support our project.
005FP_42_AS FOREST FIRE PREVENTION
Spain has been badly hit by forest fires in recent years.
We can only applaud the professionalism and efforts of the fire fighters, supported by specially equipped planes and helicopters, but prevention is better than cure.
Our project, in collaboration with an experienced livestock farmer, is to allow livestock to graze freely in the national parks in order to reduce the lower vegetation cover and thus prevent, or at least limit, the spread of fires.
1. PILOT PROJECT
We have selected the SIERRA DE IRTA natural park, located between Alcalá de Xivert, Santa Magdalena and Peñíscola, a beautiful combination of nature, forests and pastures, with an area of about 3,000 hectares suitable for grazing.
The high density of pine forests generates risky and dangerous combustible material in case of possible forest fires.
Our project focuses on the maintenance and cleaning of the sites and can contribute significantly to minimising forest fires.
2. THE CATTLE
In this prevention project, the Sierra de Irta Park will be maintained and cleaned with cattle of the Berrenda breed, a native Spanish breed in danger of extinction.
Its external characteristics correspond to those of a breed adapted to the environment, with a high degree of winter hardiness as befits a native breed.
The cattle are considered very homely and, due to their calm and docile character, are mainly used to work the land.
Our project will therefore contribute to the protection of the Berrenda cattle and help to regenerate the pastures of the natural park, maintain the forests and therefore significantly reduce the occurrence of forest fires.
3. VIRTUAL FENCING
Grazing inside a virtual fence is a new and pioneering system.
A collar with pulses keeps the livestock in the territory captured with a virtual fence and the system allows tracking with localisation and visualisation from the mobile phone.
This application makes it possible to specifically capture the areas set aside for the animals in full respect of paths and roads.
4.SURVEILLANCE AND FIRE PREVENTION.
Our experienced supervisor will carry out his work in coordination with the competent park management and the local park authorities and town councils to ensure optimal management.
Warning signs will alert visitors that livestock roam freely on the premises and this with the permission of the competent authorities.
5. SENSIBILISATION AND EDUCATIONAL EFFECTS.
Our project can also help to raise awareness among people and visitors to the park that they should respect nature and that animals can make an important contribution to the outcome.
Guided tours for schools can be organised to make children aware that disposable rubbish is absolutely unacceptable and that smoking and fires are strictly forbidden in nature.
We therefore appeal to the public to support this project, where a financial contribution is very welcome, given the high cost of the collars and the creation of a centre to care for sick or injured animals.
Contributions can be made through donations or by participating in the project by adopting a specific animal, where you will receive regular photos and/or the birth of a calf. You can also visit the park and your animal during guided tours which will be announced in advance.
